Night Walker will be re-released in mass-market
paperback
from Entangled Publishing on August 2, 2011...
I researched quite a bit while writing Night Walker. The history in the book is true. Historians
may never know the real reason why the peaceful Kumeyaay tribes banded together to burn
the Mission to the ground, so I gave it my own paranormal twist.
Here are some pictures scenes in the book…
The Mission de Alcala in San Diego. The first Spanish Mission established in New Spain.
(Known as California now)
Inside the sanctuary that Kate & her
friends visit on Dia de los Muertes.
(The Mission de Alcala still holds
Mass every Sunday.)
The courtyard where Kate meets Calisto. The weathered adobe crosses are to
memorialize the Neophytes who once lived at the Mission...
Here are some of the
remaining 1700's
furnishings from the
Mission
When I wrote Night Walker, the Romenya, a Southern
California native flower became a large symbol in the book,
so I planted some at my house so I could get a feel for the
scent, the blooming patterns, etc. I now have a small grove
of the flowers....
The San Diego coast also plays a large part in Night Walker.
Calisto and Kate fell in love in these waves...
Calisto and Kate are both musicians and play the piano at different points in the book.
I wrote parts of the book while listening to these pieces to help me keep the tone. I thought
you might want to hear them...
